Australian 1500m and 5000m champion Jessica Hull has run the fastest ever lap by a female around Melbourne’s Tan.

Hull ran 11 minutes, 32 seconds around the 3.827km loop that surrounds Melbourne’s Botantical Gardens to win the annual Run the Tan event. The time shaved three seconds off the course record, set by Linden Hall in 2021.

Hall was second in 11:37 from Abbey Caldwell (11:47) and junior Amy Bunnage (11:59).

Olympic 1500m representative Jye Edwards took out the men’s race in 10:23, moving to equal seventh place with Ryan Gregson on the Tan all-time list. The course record is held by Craig Mottram at 10:08.

Michael Roger set a new para record, covering the course in 11:04 ahead of Jaryd Clifford (11:16).
