Cool, still conditions greeted athletes at Albert Park this morning for the third annual Run Prix, raced over two laps of the lake on a fast 10km circuit.
With the gun going off at dawn, athletes enjoyed good but not perfect racing weather: cloudy skies, 11°C and no rain but with a steady 21 km/h breeze.
Men’s 10km: Little edges Gualter in New Zealand sweep
New Zealand’s William Little, the 2024 5000m champion, claimed top honours in a trans-Tasman clash, pulling clear of compatriot Toby Gualter to win in 28:47. Gualter held on for second in 28:51, with NSW cross country champion Luke Hince rounding out the podium in 29:03.
The depth of the men’s field was on full display, with 15 athletes breaking the 30-minute barrier.

Women’s 10km: Viljeon PB and Gregson’s comeback

Donve Viljoen produced the best run of her career, clocking a PB of 33:26 to pull away from miler Jaylah Hancock-Cameron (33:34). Ethiopia’s Emebet Getawy completed the podium in 33:55.

The women’s race also featured a special moment with four-time Olympian Genevieve Gregson making her return to competition after the birth of her second child, finishing 7th in 34:38. In total, ten women dipped under 35 minutes, underlining the race’s quality.

Half Marathon and 5km


The half marathon belonged to Josh Bourke (74:35) and Rachael McGuinness (77:01), while the shorter events saw Darcy Williams (14:57) and Matilda Cole (17:07) take the 5km titles.
