Mia Gross: 400m STATE CHAMPION! 51.88 PB 🏆

Australian sprint talent Mia Gross has continued her strong return to the 400m, claiming the state title with a personal best performance of 51.88.

Documenting her journey through a recent vlog, Gross revealed the mix of nerves, preparation and confidence that shaped her championships campaign. After cruising through the heats—deliberately controlled and without her usual bicarbonate routine—she entered the final with a clear intent to attack the race more aggressively.

That approach paid off.

Going out faster than ever before and hitting her target 200m split for the first time, Gross held her form down the home straight to secure gold and break through the 52-second barrier. While she described the performance as “room for improvement,” the result marks a significant step forward in her progression over the distance.

The performance continues a consistent upward trend for Gross, who has been steadily lowering her times each outing as she builds toward the national season. With confidence growing and race execution improving, she now turns her attention to the upcoming Maurie Plant Meet – Melbourne, where she is set to contest the 200m against international competition.

For Gross, the momentum is clear—each race sharper than the last, and the belief building that her best is still to come.
