Monaco Diamond League Tipping Competition

The time for time trials is over, with world class athletics returning in Monaco this weekend.

The time for time trials is over, with world class athletics returning in Monaco this weekend.

Seven Australians feature on the start lists for the Monaco Diamond League meet:

  • 800m duo Peter Bol and Joseph Deng;
  • Metric miler Ryan Gregson; and
  • 5000m runners Jessica Hull, Genevieve Gregson, Stewart McSweyn and Matthew Ramsden (who is reportedly the pace maker for the world record attempt by Joshua Cheptegei)

To celebrate the meet we’re running a tipping competition, where you need to guess the time that each Australian will record. If bragging rights aren’t enough of a prize, we’ll also be providing a $30 voucher to the Inside Athletics Shop.

Andre scored 25.67 as the difference between his guesses and the performances recorded by Australian athletes in Monaco.

The minor places went to:

3. Karen Blay (38.71)
4. Kyal Shepard (39.41)
=5. Paige Campbell (41.71)
=5. John Whyte (41.71)

Andre’s tips were:
– Peter Bol 1:46.40 (vs 1:44.96 actual, a 1.44s difference)
– Joseph Deng 1:46.10 (vs 1:46.20 actual, a 0.10s difference)
– Ryan Gregson 3:38.90 (vs 3:35.57 actual, a 3.33s difference)
– Stewart McSweyn 13:13.70 (vs 13:13.22, a 0.48s difference)
– Jessica Hull 14:53.20 (vs 14:43.80, a 9.40s difference)
– Genevieve Gregson 15:27.30 (vs 15:38.22, a 10.92s difference)

Andre wins bragging rights in our first tipping competition for the year, as well as a $30 gift voucher to the Inside Athletics Shop.
